• Elastic (0.5-inch width)
• Matching Thread

✂️ Step 1: Measuring and Cutting the Fabric

• Measure the baby’s chest width and desired length for the top.
• Cut two rectangular pieces for the front and back (add extra for seam allowance and gathering).
• Cut two narrow strips for the ruffle straps (make them longer to create a fuller ruffle effect).

🧵 Step 2: Preparing the Ruffle Straps

• Fold each strap lengthwise and stitch along one side.
• Turn it inside out, press, and create a gathering stitch along one edge to form the ruffles.

🔧 Step 3: Sewing the Elasticated Neckline
